God's Promise CDC
God’s Promise is a three-year Rites of Passage (mentoring) program developed to establish a concrete connection between childhood and young adulthood. This program fosters a positive mentor-ship between youth 11-17 and inspirational men and women within the community. It also exposes participants to national and international political issues. Through workshops and enrichment activities, the students gain valuable skills that will enhance their ability to become successful, well rounded leaders of the 21st Century. God's Promise CDC holds two programs, one for girls and one for boys. An underlying theme of the boy's program is athletic scholarship. The program meets on Friday evenings at Seton Hall University (400 South Orange Ave., South Orange) and includes both group and one-on-one components. The mentor commitment is for at least one year.
